This is a synchronous session. Understanding the impact of adversity on a child’s brain is imperative to an effective educator – particularly in the current climate of a global pandemic and civil unrest. ACE Interface was selected to be used throughout the state of Virginia to help educate the public about the ACE study and the impact of trauma on the developing child’s brain. In partnership with SCAN of Northern Virginia, the Loudoun County Trauma Informed Community Network trained a cohort of people to provide the ACE Interface training to the community. Since then, we have provided the ACE interface training to Parent Liaisons, school nurses, special education teachers, school-by-school staff meetings, and will continue to provide trainings throughout LCPS.

Please note: this training is part 1 of two parts. The second part is titled Trauma Informed School Practices and will be provided at a later date to participants who received the ACE interface.
